PRO-NET, the distribution and sales arm for Proton New Energy Vehicles (NEV), is accelerating its nationwide expansion after recording explosive growth for Proton e.MAS in 2026, while simultaneously introducing a new premium retail identity designed to elevate the customer ownership experience.
Driven by strong demand for its growing range of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, Proton e.MAS sales surged by 329.5% in the first four months of 2026, with 11,617 units delivered nationwide. The remarkable performance reinforces Proton e.MAS’ emergence as one of Malaysia’s fastest-growing EV brands and highlights increasing consumer confidence in the country’s transition towards electrified mobility.
Evolving the brand experience to meet customer expectations
To support its rapid growth trajectory, PRO-NET has expanded its dealer footprint with the opening of two new Proton e.MAS outlets this month. One outlet is strategically located along Jalan Sultan Ismail in the heart of Kuala Lumpur alongside its sister ICE showroom, while the second becomes the brand’s latest shopping mall-based outlet at Pavilion Bukit Jalil, bringing Proton e.MAS closer to urban consumers and lifestyle-driven buyers.
Both new outlets debut the latest Proton e.MAS corporate identity (CI), introducing a more sophisticated and immersive retail environment aimed at reflecting the evolution of both the brand and its customers. Featuring refreshed colours, premium materials, modern digital elements and upgraded customer touchpoints, the new showroom concept is designed to create a more seamless and engaging EV purchasing journey.
The refreshed CI also signals a strategic shift for Proton e.MAS as the brand matures from an emerging EV player into a more established mobility ecosystem supported by strong sales, aftersales and customer engagement capabilities.
Currently, Proton e.MAS operates 53 sales outlets nationwide, making it one of the most extensive NEV dealer networks in Malaysia. The network supports approximately 1,600 employees across sales, servicing, and administration functions, underlining PRO-NET’s commitment to building a robust EV ecosystem capable of supporting long-term customer ownership.
“The rapid growth of Proton e.MAS in Malaysia is driven not only by the strength of our product lineup, but also by the confidence customers have in our sales and aftersales ecosystem,” said Zhang Qiang.
“By establishing a strong support structure alongside every model launch, we can give customers greater reassurance about the long-term ownership experience while strengthening brand loyalty and advocacy.
“We target to continue expanding our outlet network and as we do so, Proton e.MAS will be able to reach more potential EV buyers while delivering a higher standard of customer care and convenience,” he added.
The expansion comes at a pivotal time for Malaysia’s EV industry as consumers increasingly prioritise accessibility, charging support, aftersales assurance and retail experience
By investing aggressively in both physical infrastructure and customer-facing enhancements, PRO-NET aims to strengthen Proton e.MAS’ position as a leading force in Malaysia’s rapidly evolving NEV landscape.
The new corporate identity will gradually be introduced across future and existing Proton e.MAS outlets nationwide as part of a broader strategy to standardise and elevate the brand experience across all customer touchpoints.
